Silversmithing - Sunday October 10th
Let nature be your inspiration, and enjoy learning how to create a beautiful piece of silver jewellery which will be totally unique and personal to you.
This one day workshop will give you a great introduction to the fast growing trend in silver jewellery making. We will begin the day with a short walk and nature connection exercise to find inspiration in the forms around us, before learning the techniques and processes involved in turning the silver clay into a precious piece of jewellery. Using recycled silver combined with organic binders and moisture we will use a silver clay which can be shaped, and moulded into a pendant or a pair of earrings. Once fired the clay reverts back to becoming 99.9% silver, and can be polished and given as a precious gift or kept as a special reminder of your connection to nature.
Included in the day will be 5g of silver clay, all materials, tools and equipment, and refreshments.
We will work under cover in our gorgreous yurt classroom at Little Barton with it’s cozy woodburner.
